News, Notes and Injury Updates
Ingle Martin will be given every chance to win the starting QB job
Coach Zook thinks this team has more athleticism and he feels better about how he and his staff knows what these players can and can not do.
Eric Holcombe came into the off-ssason works in December in poor shape but has worked very hard since he arrived to get in much better condition as spring practice is almost here.
Todd Bounce will start out at defensive tackle and they could move him around a lot to find the best place for him.
The front seven on defense will play a lot of number and bodies and this should make up for the lack of experience.
In my opinion, guys like Larry Kendrick, Matt Jackson, Matt Farrior and others that have changed positions are in difficult situations and the younger guys could pass them up on the depth chart.
Keiwan Ratliff will work a lot at wide receiver to learn more of the offense but he is still the starting CB.
The Gators will work a lot on special teams this spring, extensively on the X’s and Os, protection and getting after it.
Injury Report:
Jonathan Colon (back) and Casey Griffith (shoulder) will both miss spring practice. Matt Farrior (shoulder), Carlos Perez (knee), and Kenny Parker (back) are all cleared to participate in spring practice but they will be monitored very closely and could be held out of certain drills. Also, David Kenner had hernia surgery before he arrived in December and the Florida coaches will monitor him closely as well.
