PRO CAREER: Enters fifth season with the Bears after helping lead Chicago to Super Bowl XLI in first full season as team’s top signal caller… Has guided Bears to a 17-6 (.739) record, the best regular season winning percentage of any Chicago QB dating back to 1961, while starting 23 of 24 career games played… Started every Bears game at quarterback in 2006 to become the 1st Bears QB since Erik Kramer in 1995 to start all 16 regular-season contests and just the 4th since the 16-game schedule was instituted in 1978… Since entering the NFL in 2003, has the 7th highest yards per completion average in the league at 12.25… Has completed 367 of 675 career regular season passing attempts for 4,496 yards with 27 TDs and 26 INTs… His 7 career starts with a passer rating over 100.0 all came in 2006, the 2nd most in the NFL that season (Marc Bulger, STL, 8)… Became first Bears QB since Jim McMahon in 1985 to win back-to-back postseason contests… Ranks 2nd in Bears postseason history with 783 career passing yards (McMahon, 967), 69 completions (McMahon, 70) and ranks 1st with 133 attempts… Registered first passing TD in Bears Super Bowl history, a 4-yard strike to Muhsin Muhammad in the 1st quarter of Super Bowl XLI… Became first Bears quarterback ever and just the second player overall in franchise history to earn NFC Offensive Player of the Month honors in September of 2006… Earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors vs. TB (12/17/06) and twice earned FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week honors (vs. DET, 9/17/06; vs. SEA, 10/1/06)… Just the 8th QB ever drafted by the Bears in the first round and the 4th since 1951… Dating back to 1952, he and Craig Krenzel are Chicago's only rookie QBs to win their first 2 starts (Krenzel, 3 in 2004) and Grossman is the only one during that time to start and win while making his NFL debut… Recipient of 2006 Ed Block Courage Award as voted by teammates.

PERSONAL NOTES: Passed for 7,518 yards and 97 TDs at Bloomington South (Ind.) H.S. during his prep career… Led team to the 1998 state 5A title, passing for 3,080 yards and 44 TDs as a senior… Honored as the 1998 Indiana Player-of-the-Year by USA Today and Parade All-America team… Tabbed by several recruiting magazines as the top prep QB in the Midwest and among the top 15 in the nation… Ranked by National Recruiting Advisor among the top-5 players in the nation in its "pro-style QB" rating… Son of Daniel and Maureen Grossman… He and wife, Alison, married prior to the 2005 season… Father and grandfather, Rex, both played football at Indiana University.
