Defensive End Drama

Several coaching changes were made over the holiday weekend, but one big move in the SEC will have an impact on Syracuse recruiting. Find out how and what it means for Syracuse's top target inside.

Gene Chizik is out at Auburn, among many other developments in the college football coaching world.

It wasn't a surprise, but it still creates quite the recruiting ripple now that it's official.

Conventional thought tells you that programs like Alabama, Georgia or other SEC schools will be impacted on the recruiting front -- but Syracuse? Clemson?

The answer is yes for each, and it all centers around the defensive end position. That means SU's top priority and the No. 1 prospect in the Empire State, Ebenezer Ogundeko.

Doug Marrone's 2013 class, which will be smaller than most, may very well be measured by how it fares with the top New York City prospect on the board. In the 2012, the staff closed the deal with Wayne Morgan, and most considered the class a success. This season, the perception may be linked to Ogundeko - and his already dramatic recruitment took another turn the moment Auburn announced its intentions to move on from Chizik.
