Freshmen pitching, homers lead Florida

Friday night went by an ideal script for the Gators. Starting pitcher Danny Young tossed 5.2 shutout innings while the offense jumped to a 5-0 lead after three innings. Florida head coach Kevin O'Sullivan was able to conserve his best bullpen arms for the final two games of the series as the Gators won their 10th of the last 11 games with a 7-2 win over Tennessee.

The Gators threw four freshmen on the mound and pulled out an easy win in Southeastern Conference play. That doesn't usually happen, but after junior right-hander Jonathon Crawford sprained his ankle during practice on Thursday, the younger pitchers were called on to step up. And they delivered. Danny Young, Aaron Rhodes, Parker Danciu and Tucker Simpson kept the key arms fresh in the bullpen...
