Henderson Pours In Scores

The only thing raining more than the skies on Wednesday was WVU sophomore Terry Henderson, who poured in 32 points in the Pittsburgh Pro-Am Summer League.

Henderson was the night's top scorer, making five three-pointers and converting 11 of his 23 shot attempts. He also added a 5-8 performance from the line as Oliverio's Peppers dropped a tight 96-94 decision to UPMC.

The rising sophomore, who WVU will depend on for outside scoring this year, also added six rebounds and one assist in the game.

Incoming freshmen Brandon Watkins and Nathan Adrian were strong in support, as they have been for much of the Pro-Am season. Adrian had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Watkins narrowly missed the same with a 12-point, eight-board effort. Watkins was 6-12 from the field, while Adrian was 4-11 (1-6 from three) and 2-2 from the line. Both were shaky with the ball at times, suffering a combined seven turnovers.

Walk-on Brett Morris also put in an appearance, in which he grabbed three rebounds but missed his only shot from the field.

After a blazing Monday performance, Eron Harris was a bit off the mark in The Lair's 91-82 loss. He missed all five of his three point attempts, and finished 2-9 from the field for a total of four points. He also recorded two rebounds, two assists and two turnovers.

Devin Williams, like his freshmen counterparts on the Peppers squad, again turned in a workmanlike effort. He scored 13 point on 5-10 shooting from the field and 3-4 from the line.

Walk-ons Chase Conner and Richard Romeo contributed six and three points, respectively.

Action resumes on Monday, Jul. 15 at the Greentree Sportsplex with the two "West Virginia" teams squaring off against each other at 9:00 p.m..
