Miami and Florida latest to offer big corner

Well before spring football begins Miami (Fla.) Norland cornerback Carlton Davis already has 10 offers in hand. The 6-foot-2, 182 pound prototype is a big physical guy in the secondary who isn't bashful about his abilities and is serious about his academics. It will take a well-rounded program to make this south Florida star think hard about joining.

The Miami Hurricanes got in the mix last Monday when they extended an offer to Carlton Davis. Assistant Hurlie Brown made the call to the prize defensive back. "Coach Hurlie called me and I went to their Junior Day and the basketball game they invited me to," Davis said. "They were getting after me for a long time, so I kind of expected the offer to come.
