Debose to Have Surgery; Out for the Year

After more than a week of speculation, Florida coach Urban Meyer finally announced Andre Debose will need surgery to repair a damaged tendon in his hamstring. The freshman receiver was expected to contribute right away especially filling the role of Percy Harvin, but he will miss this season because of the injury that has bothered him since the start of the summer.

The Gators will look elsewhere to fill the void left by Harvin in the slot. "It is the tendon part of the muscle that is detached from the bone that they are going to reattach it," Urban Meyer said after Tuesday's practice. Meyer said Andre Debose took the news very hard.
